Genius: Aretha Animation

OVERVIEW

Rhino Records was looking for a musical GIF Animation to promote and market tracks from The Genius of Aretha Franklin. I created a frame-by-frame animation synced to Respect - Aretha’s Version.

ROLE

I worked as the designer and animator on a team with one marketer and one mentor from the record label. Throughout the project, my role involved:

• Brainstorming, ideating, and developing the design aesthetic to match Aretha’s branding

• Illustrating and designing each frame of the animation

• Creating and editing the final animation, syncing motion graphics to the selected track
